Techcast introduces real-time video feeds
Munich, July 1, 2023 – Online event service provider Techcast presents its new "real-time video feeds" feature. Techcast's browser-based virtual studio allows event production in a professional setting, completely independent of location. With the new "real-time video feeds" feature, the studio solution also enables the controlled feeding of live speeches from the online audience – with image and sound.
Video connection is a direct connection between participants from the online audience and the livestream of a digital or hybrid event, including camera images and sound.
Online participants ask their questions directly in the livestream – ad hoc with video connection. What makes this special is that there is a seamless transition between technologies – from broadcasting to web conferencing – thanks to Techcast's innovative virtual studio.
Video feeds offer added value to both online participants and organizers. The online audience has the opportunity to ask questions in person, receive immediate answers, and follow up if necessary. This makes the entire interaction more lively and natural. The event gains momentum and variety.
Before connecting to the video call, the organizer can review the incoming requests. An operator then conducts a brief technical check with the person connected. To do this, the operator can set up a "direct call" (1-1 communication) with the person concerned without anyone else in the waiting area or on stage noticing. This is also the main difference to pure video conferences. Despite all the spontaneity, everything follows the planned course of the digital or hybrid event.
Especially for hybrid events, organizers offer a sustainable, time- and cost-efficient online participation option with video connections: for anyone who wants to actively participate but cannot be there in person for certain reasons.
With its virtual studio, Techcast complements high-quality digital events with professional production capabilities. The decision by the German Bundestag this summer to permanently allow virtual general meetings of stock corporations provided the impetus for the development of video links within the virtual studio. A prerequisite for holding virtual general meetings is the unrestricted protection of shareholder rights. Thanks to video links, online participants in the general meetings can properly contribute to the general debate and ask their questions live, just as they would at an in-person event.
"Video conferencing enables full interaction in words and images at online and hybrid events, regardless of location. I am delighted that the IR and press departments of various DAX companies are already using the technology as early adopters," says Rosie Schuster, founder and managing director of livestreaming provider Techcast.
Techcast's online event platform enables the implementation of digital and hybrid events with continuous lecture series and/or several parallel breakout sessions in the organizer's corporate design. Since the beginning of the pandemic, Techcast has produced livestreams of the virtual annual general meetings of several large DAX-listed companies, among other things. The platform also hosts online training courses, international conferences, and employee events. The video connection feature is an integral part of Techcast's modular online event platform, making event formats even more interactive.
