Livestream events vs. workshops
Holding a plenary event via livestream has many advantages. Nevertheless (and recently more and more often), organizers want digital workshop formats: Here, every participant can be present with sound and images. As we are used to from video conferences. And yet different? Or even better?
Digital workshops are considered the supreme discipline of remote collaboration. Technology, dramaturgy and didactics form the three pillars of successful implementation.
Finding the right tool for this has not been easy so far. Compliance and security requirements as well as usability are extremely important for this demanding interactive format. The usual video conferencing solutions often do not meet the requirements of professional workshops.
Technical implementation: State of the art
Virtual workshops can be held as stand-alone formats or separate, parallel sessions within an online or hybrid event. In both cases, organizers - especially in the B2B environment - are not satisfied with standard applications. They want a landing page with corporate branding so that the video conference is seamlessly integrated into the event environment with other content (agenda, speakers, plenary sessions, etc.). Ideally, registration takes place without interfaces. This also enables personalized evaluations after the event. Live direction and technical administration make it possible to control the live event in a coordinated manner.
