How the DLD innovation conference is taking on a new format thanks to the Techcast Event Cloud

DLD was co-founded in 2005 by managing director Steffi Czerny. The conference, organized by the Munich-based media group Burda, is considered Europe's leading digital conference. "DLD focuses on the transformation of markets, media, culture, and society brought about by the internet and new digital business models. The approach

In times when a physical event could not take place, the DLD team demonstrated flexibility and digital expertise.

With Techcast's technical expertise and many years of experience, a hybrid online event was produced and livestreamed to over 4,500 participants. Live direction was used to switch the video signals between the action in the studio and external speakers from around the world.

Techcast's virtual event platform provided the conference with a customized digital home. All interested parties were able to register in advance on the platform, which was designed in line with DLD's corporate design, and subsequently received confirmation and reminder emails.

In order to bring the global community closer together, particular emphasis was placed on networking. Online participants were able to join in the discussion directly thanks to the Q&A function and share their emotions and impressions in the chat. All guests were also able to send personal messages and have video conversations with their personal matches. This was made possible by the cooperation partner and matching expert Chemistree with its sophisticated algorithms.
